Pros

There are perhaps two pros: Hobby Lobby is open Monday through Saturday (closed on Sunday), and open until 8 p.m; and, employees get a 15% discount.

Cons

Hobby Lobby is a non-union business, doesn't care too much about its employees. Only get 30 minutes for lunch, which includes clock in and out times. No one goes out for lunch because you don't have the time. The floors are linoleum over concrete and if you can imagine standing on "hot coals" that's what your feet feel like after 2 hours. Cashiers get no breaks, standing 4 or more hours. Other sales and stock employees rarely take breaks and everyone complains about their "feet." No store employee is scheduled more than 38.5 or 39 hours, leaving one to assume that all employees except the store manager is "part time" -- without health benefits, at minimum salaries around $9 an hour. Every week, an employee in each department literally counts and orders as needed every single item in their department (with pencil and paper); then each week, truck delivery is made to store...and again, the employees price and put in place every single piece of merchandise -- nothing is computerized (still using pricing guns for everything). Framing department does substandard work, which explains why you can frame a "sports jersey" for $100. Management treats employees as if they are brainless idiots; no self-respecting person could work there for very long. Hobby Lobby should have its managment enroll in "diversity training" and "seminars about treating employees with respect."

Pros

- Wide range of projects - Great co-workers - Top of the line technology - Learning new techniques

Cons

Expectations not clearly defined, high turn-over, unstable department, and lack of communication. Micro-managed with each project but the result is still not satisfactory, blame goes down instead of up. No proper training for the required work. Unchristianlike management style and policies. Instead of building you up to where you need to be as an employee they are quick to cut you down and toss you aside.
