Excellent coworkers, excellent boss, excellent pay, and it's a great place to learn how to be an employee. As an under graduate student, I've learned a lot about the professional world.

Cons

During finals season the law students can get scary.

Pros

Potentially a good source of student employment...if you know where to find it. Jobs usually pay fairly well for entry-level positions (~$9/hour). There are many different sources of employment on campus to choose from.

Cons

Many sources of employment on campus do not allow you to choose your own hours. Some jobs force you to work during odd hours of the night (i.e. 4 A.M.).

Pros

If you like teaching, Hofstra is great. Colleagues are easy to get a long with. Everyone is helpful and will get you what you need if you ask.

Cons

Unfortunately, currently shrinking, so the number of classes available to teach is going to decrease. Some of the more senior staff is retiring in the next few years and it is a shame to see them go.
