Pros

Most programmers work as a team assisting each other as needed. Generous compensation. Rewarded when hitting deadlines. Saw previous post from new guy and wanted to clear the air. Most programmers have been with the company for 4- 10 years. Company allows programmers to take 2-4 weeks off to fly to their home country and work remote as needed.

Cons

Morale goes down when the new guy is arriving late taking long lunches and leaving early. Need to reevaluate new employees so they are being held accountable instead of milking the "I'm still learning" excuse.

Pros

Everything, all the opportunities a person could want!

Cons

People who think that they don’t have to work as hard as the rest of the team. I supervised this employee. He flatly refused to work even 40 hours when the rest of the programers, whom I’ve supervised for years and appreciate the opportunity, pulled together to meet our clients deadlines and always have. This person refused to work even 40 hours as the newest member of the team wouldn’t do anything more while others had to pick up the slack. This company appreciates its employees, and the employees appreciate the company and we all do what is needed to help meet our clients deadlines. Thats what you do in IT/programming. The career has long hours expected. And the newest guy on the team apparently not only doesn’t believe this, he doesn’t care about his teammates, not a team player and I couldn’t be happier to see him go. We’re a tight and good team, the company has sponsored citizenship for many programing staff that put the effort in. You get out what you put in and that is fair. This person is off his rocker, good luck finding a technology job anywhere in this country working less than 40 hours.

Pros

* great people to work with. * perfect place if you want to get experience dealing with chaos, stress and personal insults

Cons

The CEO is a tyrant!! He doesn't trust anyone. So, there is no management structure. He likes to surround himself with yes-people. Ring a bell?? - Hitler!! He constantly abuses everyone under him. He uses languages that I have never heard in my 20+ years of work experience. There are no benefits - medical is a joke, no 401K. they promise 2 weeks of PTO, but drown you with so much work that you can never take those 2 weeks off. In fact, you are expected to put in 60+ hours each week. In the 3 months I was there, I saw at least 6 upper management folks fired or quit. CEO believes in a cowboy type of management. Calls for meetings at 5:00 pm on Fridays, says he just closed a deal and expects the team to implement 3-4 months of work over the next 10 days, and yes that includes weekends too.
