I think the biggest benefit to working for HAL is the travel. Their ships go to some of the most exotic places in the world. As a manager the pay is also very good, personally. I work a lot of hours and sometime I have extremely long days. That being said, it all works out when I can go out and explore the ports. I have health insurance also for quite cheap. The company is, honestly, a fun and enjoyable company to work for.

Cons

It is contractually based. My position does not have vacation pay, so you need to be good at budgetting your money to ensure you have money during your sometimes 3+ month break.

Pros

HAL has a very diverse community onboard hailing from all 7 continents of the world, although most of them come from asia. Because of this, you get to meet a lot of people of different cultures and practices which is very interesting because each individual has different personalities. But the best part is that you get to see the world.

Cons

Crew members do not have benefits and are underpaid despite the fact that they have long working hours and lots of overtime. Whats worse is how crew members are not allowed to log it in the system that they did an overtime because the managers and supervisors doesnt want the head office calling on them.
