Its all about who you know and if you are favored by upper management. There is no training or career development for the average worker. Upper management does not respond to complaints brought to their attention. They only provide excuses and sweep it under the rug. There is no employee appreciation. It is a cold and unfriendly atmosphere with high turnover. You will never receive a pat on the back or thank you. Unexperienced and unprofessional interviewers, no employee orientation, no employee handbook. If you need answers you have to ask someone because info isnt provided. Terrible working environment.

Being the youngest, only woman on the dock can be a bit challenging. Union dock workers are lazy, however I have realized it's because of the lack of leadership within the terminal.
