      Poor and difficult culture in this workplace

      Pros

      The company has a variety of competitive benefits available to employees, some at minimal cost. Some positions offer flexibility in schedules.

      Cons

      Management has a directly confrontational and adversarial relationship with union rank and file, which continually creates issues for middle managers. Safety policies and programs are superficial and training is only performed for compliance purposes.

      Pros

      They have good insurance and a pretty generous time off policy. They want to see you succeed in your job

      Cons

      The office is pretty cut and dry. It is a "cubicle farm". Work week is not 40 hour week week, it is actually 43+. This was not clear to me until after I started. There is quite a bit of work at the moment that I do that was not detailed on the job description which came as a surprise (and challenge).
