Pros

Benefits and working with a great DM for most of my career

Cons

Too many Chiefs in one building. Feel bad not only for ASM'S but for the hourly associates. Higher Corp. Not DM'S or HR need to visit stores unexpected and really see what is going on in the buildings. The moral issues. Do you really know who are running your stores? You would be surprised. Especially Orange County and LA County stores.

Pros

They don't just hire anyone. It is a good store with quality material and products, it is great for anyone starting out trying to get experience

Cons

They push for you to get credit applications, even after the customer has said no. The pay is very low and not worth the headacht

Pros

Great people, can be a fun job with the right management, freedom to do your own creative displays, low stress level...it's not brain surgery.

Cons

OLD SCHOOL senior managing style. The district managers rarely give you positive feedback, they just point out what you are doing wrong. Most ASM have been thrown into their positions without any formal training on P and P's and their "standards". If you move from one district or state the rules and policies seem to change. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for and I've been in retail for over 20 years. You will work like a dog and not be compensated properly. Any employee that is non management get payed poorly. If you have a college education this is NOT the company for you. This company is a step above Walmart when it comes to the way they treat their employees. Tasks are more important than customer service.
