Pros

I really was desperate for a part time job, during the seasonal time and they hired me so I was happy.

Cons

I would say the experience as a sales associate made me realize I never want to work in retail ever again. My bosses were nice for the most part and the people I worked with weren't too bad. They paid too little, but of course that's expected with any sort of job like this.

Pros

- Experience in all parts of store - Some of management is quite good at what they do - Flexible hours -Easy work if you are a girl

Cons

- Expected to do more work than what you are being compensated for - Job is not clearly defined - There is no union to discuss any changes within the whole Corporation - Gossip and unprofessional-ism runs ram-pit - Near impossible to more up the latter - No pay raises or bonuses of any kind

terrible pay, poor management

Pros

fun, stress- free environment, first dibs on some great merchandise

Cons

Horrible pay- minimum wage to start with miniscule increases. Department managers paid only slightly more. Pay increases take forever to show up on checks( still waiting a month for my last one), managers rarely seen except when they show up to tell you what a poor job you are doing. Policy changes are routinely made but not communicated. Managers give out job promotions without posting or allowing equal opportunities for all. Managers use the intercom to eavesdrop on employees. Managers refer to employees as "that girl", etc. because they cannot be bothered to learn people's names. Heard one manager make disparaging remarks about "old people" who cannot remember anything from one second to the next- in referring to older employees in the store. Managers certainly are not hired for their enlightened mangement styles, that is for sure. Terrible morale( and turnover) in my store, needless to say.
