Pros

Paid weekly, got experience in unloading boxes and registers

Cons

Worload was way too much for a mostly woman staff. They expected you to lift heavy boxes, rugs, furniture you name it for only $8 an hour? They had woman doing men jobs while the men of the store shuffled papers in the back. Also they didn't seem to care about employees, the manager focused on getting donations for the holidays to win some type of regional prize & not for the foundation itself.

Pros

None. This company used to be fun. Now is just a sweat shop.

Cons

They fire you if you have a different opinion and if you get hurt, you. Enter start looking for another job. They fired someone after she got hurt twice in one year. They won’t say that but that’s what it boiled down to.

Pros

If you want something to do every once in a while this is a good job. If you need to earn money to survive thats an other story. Its lgbtq friendly at least where i was it seemed that way.

Cons

If you are a normal person who need to earn money to survive, and want to work full time. Don’t count on it here unless you are a natural at customer service and or looking like you are working fast. They will give you random hours, no hours, sometimes close to thirty maybe 2 weeks out of the year. But you never know. They are not very friendly towards people with disabilities. they will be nice to you but they don’t want to give you any hours. They want you to leave and don’t care about if you are earning enough to survive or not. The managers just want to go fast for their bosses. They will force trucks to be cleared faster than they need to. Theres no union The safety in this place is terrible, fire hazards all over the place, ive been trapped in boxes more times than not. Safety hazards all over the joint They will call you at random times and expect you to show up even when its not on the schedule. If you cant they will act real upset with you. While i worked at Homegoods i noticed that they tell people that if you work hard you get more hours. This is not true. In order just to get part time you have to work a lot harder than you need to, but in order to work full time you have to become their slave. This is how the company traps good workers. Next thing you know you there for 10 years and you finally get “manager”. The cake is a lie.
