Pros

None that come to mind.

Cons

Very unwelcoming and discouraging almost from day one. They expect you to know automatically exactly what they want, even though you are reporting to 3 different Managers, all of whom have their own ideas of how things should be run. What might be "right" one day is "wrong" the next. The attitude from management seems to be "do as I say, not as I do," as they frequently break their own rules and contradict their own directions. If you do exactly as instructed, you are told you aren't "taking charge" and if you try to "take charge", they micromanage the heck out of you. The entire system seems to be set up to ensure failure. No matter how hard you work or what you do, you're wrong every single time. Even when management fails to communicate or makes a mistake, they come back and "explain" to you why it's actually your fault. They have really taken scapegoating to a new level. Tons of discouragement and pretty much zero encouragement.

Pros

- Management cares about employees - You can have flexibility with your schedule - You are trained before starting something new - There is a warm corporate culture - Each store has a social committee to encourage associate friendships - Incentive programs can get you some extra cash - You can advance to a Coordinator position but the positions are limited per store

Cons

- Pay is low as with any other retail job - Training can go fast and then you are left scrambling but you are encouraged to ask if there is anything you don't really understand how to do - Some people don't follow the core values of HomeSense

Pros

good pay sometimes flexible with hours.

Cons

You book day's off and they won't give you them. They don't praise you. The management are horrible and made alot of staff cry.
