Pros

It's a relatively relaxed environment to work in. Coworkers can be friendly as well as /most/ of the managers. You will usually get some hours even if they're cutting them, I've only seen others get 0 hours a week when they request it. (The exception being if you've been suspended.)

Cons

It is a poor environment to work in if you must be working the lowest positions in the store, sacker (courtesy clerk) or cashier. Working as a sacker I would not recommend the store. While most of my coworkers are friendly, many of them treat me and other sackers with some level of disrespect. Customers are equally disrespectful towards sackers. Often when a sacker is sacking someone's order, if they have any certain request as far as sacking goes, they will speak to the cashier and not to the sacker, as if that person is not even there. Also, management is somewhat frequent in promising promotions within the store and never following through. Management has also been known for not properly following requested availability for scheduling (mostly for employees attending school).

Pros

It is an environment where it is easy to excel if you simply work hard and treat the customers well. I loved working there all during high school and college. I've met some very adept managers as well as some adults who stayed in entry level positions far too long.

Cons

Limited opportunities for advancement and career progression.
