Pros

Great benefits and overall work-life culture. Fun energetic workplace. Always have music playing and overall positive people to work with. As long as you're doing well, the pay is pretty good. Surprisingly very good pay early on for any top performers.

Cons

Not a sustainable model. Quota is currently unrealistic based on territory distribution and the value of the product that didn't match the initial price it was offered at (caused many to cancel their initial memberships). You have to outsell any cancellations because your quota is in Net New Revenue. The job has gotten much more difficult (wearing multiple hats from selling, servicing of clients, preventing cancels to even updating client payment information - otherwise you take a hit). Given that the quota expectations haven't changed (but the selling environment has changed drastically), this makes it much harder for those who aim for leadership to be given a chance to apply for management. Many new hires in sales leadership roles are outside hires.

Pros

Solid benefits package. Amazing colleagues. Parking at the CoStar offices for concerts and events in downtown Richmond was a huge perk.

Cons

Compensation was great when I first started, but constant changes to the commission structure worked against the sales reps making it harder and harder to earn extra income. By the end of my time, I was barely seeing anything above my base salary on my paychecks. Management is a mess. but I guess that depends on what team your on and what division you're in. I know there are some great Directors there, however, my experience was entirely tainted due to being assigned to a newly hired supervisor that was too inexperienced to offer any value, too power hungry to learn anything new from his veteran reps, and too afraid to speak up and represent his team to upper management. The product is also problematic. It simply doesn't deliver on the promise of helping agents make more money, sell homes faster, yada yada yada.
