Pros

- My manager has been great the entire time in working with me despite the fact that I've continuously failed to hit metrics - My manager has been transparent with me about how I'm doing and the timeline I have before I get fired - If you like cold-calling and selling a product that's a disruptor in an industry where you have to educate the audience on what the product does, this job is for you - If you're a very confident salesperson who doesn't mind calling the same list of 500 people week in and week out, you'll thrive in this role

Cons

- Everyone is constantly annoyed with you: Prospects, clients, managers, even your coworkers - When you're hot, you're hot, when you're not, you might as well be invisible - Required to cold-call the same list of 500 people week in and week out - eventually, everyone either remembers you, hates you, or you didn't sell them and have to make up a reason for calling them (you're forced to average 80+ dials per day) - Required to berate your clients by calling them every day (sometimes multiple times a day) to get them on the phone for "servicing" - sometimes clients cancel because they hate how much you call them, and it's your fault - Commissions are heavily taxed as "bonuses," and cancels count against your monthly net new even if you didn't sell that person and they were randomly assigned to you - Quotas are extremely difficult to make - you can do all the work and meet expectations day in and day out and still get put on the PIP - Effort does not matter - only metrics and results

Pros

Good benefits Monday thru Friday schedule

Cons

Trouble being honest Employees are just another number If they don't like you, they will find a way to fire you no matter how much you've contributed to the company or what position you hold There are so many other things to add however I feel I've already wasted too much time caring about this place and the people only to have them turn their backs on me in the end Good luck, you're going to need it

Pros

Most of the coworkers were professional in demeanor and DE knows how to pick for culture

Cons

The reviews for the IT culture are a farce. During my entire time here, I have witnessed a constant exodus of talent, been subjected to micromanagement despite delivering results and promoting a team attitude, and dealt with consistently unclear expectations. The rules to management here do not apply the same as they do for employees. Expect to pitch improvements for your ideas to be stolen, expect to be spoken down to constantly, expect for good feedback regarding your performance to be flipped negatively because upper management can't stand having someone else be shown in a positive light, except for them. After years of dealing with an atmosphere ripe with narcissism (brought about by one director in IT, specifically), I finally started to push back on the ideas that would put the business in a state of under-performance and dealt with a smear campaign of my character and my performance as a result. I have not been the only one subjected to this. To say that I am massively disgusted with the way my tenure at Homes.com came to an end, would be an understatement. My resignation was swept under the rug, I still have ex-colleagues reaching out to me, as if I were fired instead of taking a deserved promotion elsewhere, mainly in hopes of better treatment and ethics. I am lucky to have found it, but I do not think it is wise to not disclose what happened to me, which is why I am writing this review. I loved the people that I worked with, I valued the constant push for improvement for our product and customer satisfaction, and I valued the other two directors that served as effective mentors.
