Pros

Working at Honor feels like a hybrid of doing innovative, fast paced startup work and on the ground social work. This is not a company where there are ping pong tables in the office and happy hours every evening. People who work here take the work seriously and find it very rewarding. Instead of "work hard, play hard" the motto here is more "work hard and go home." I find this incredibly refreshing in Silicon Valley where there is often more of an emphasis on perks and benefits than the actual mission of the company. Honor attracts very smart and diverse people who are personally invested in changing the face of home care. I'm proud to work here and really feel like the work I'm doing is making a difference.

Cons

There are high expectations for your quality of work at Honor and if you are not meeting those expectations, you may feel like you're constantly swimming upstream. This is the reality of a fast-paced company. There are a lot of org changes, our offices are cramped, and our leadership expects you to keep up. I wouldn't describe the culture as cut-throat, I would describe it as ambitious and forward-looking.

Honor is definitely a mission-based startup and we're really proud of the impact we're having on the industry and our local communities. It makes us really happy that you feel connected to the work you are doing to help so many people. We really value ownership at Honor, but we don't want that to come at the expense of getting the full support of the team or resources you need to succeed. We are currently investing time and thoughts into better training and communication so that people don't feel overwhelmed. Thank you for your advice, we're definitely taking it! We are trying to open up as many internal feedback channels as possible so that people feel heard and we can aggregate all the best ideas!

Pros

- amazing team: everyone is incredibly sharp, motivated, and care about their coworkers - focus on major societal challenge: the work itself is really challenging and through provoking. Love that I get to work on something meaningful every day - fast growth: it's been really motivating to work at a growing company. There's a lot of energy that makes the day-to-day fun - open minded leadership: because the company is growing, not everything is perfect; however leadership is really open to feedback and your perspective on how to improve the company

Cons

- internal organization is fluid: while it's a pro that we are fast growing, that means that some of the organization is changing a lot. This ambiguity can be challenging at times, but is part of being at a start-up - there's more work than time in the day: I've found it hard to regulate my own time because there is so much to do and there's risk of burn out. I've found a balance that is working for me now, but it's been hard figuring out how to prioritize some projects and what to push back on for timelines because the space is dynamic right now and our strategy is continuously being refined

Pros

I joined Honor a few months ago and I absolutely love it. The different teams across Honor work hard to accomplish the same goal: helping to improve the quality of life for more older adults, their children, Care Pros, and local agency owners. There is also room to grow with the company.

Cons

None that I can think of at the moment.
