Pros

With the exception of management, the people.

Cons

Working at Hopper turned out to be a truly disappointing and frustrating experience. From the moment I joined the company, it became evident that the promises made during the hiring process did not align with the reality of the workplace. Here are some of the reasons why my time at Hopper was far from satisfying: Poor Work-Life Balance: Hopper claims to promote a healthy work-life balance, but in reality, it seemed like an empty promise. The workload was consistently overwhelming, leaving me with little time for personal life or self-care. The company's expectations were often unrealistic, leading to burnout and constant stress. Lack of Communication: Communication within the company was abysmal. Important information was not effectively disseminated, and it often felt like teams were working in silos. The lack of clear communication channels hindered collaboration and made it difficult to align on goals and objectives. Toxic Work Environment: The work environment at Hopper was toxic and demoralizing. The company culture seemed to prioritize competitiveness over cooperation. Rather than fostering a supportive atmosphere, there was a pervasive sense of cutthroat competition, which negatively affected teamwork and overall morale. Inadequate Management: The management at Hopper left much to be desired. There was a clear lack of leadership and direction, which resulted in confusion and a lack of clarity on priorities. Feedback and guidance were scarce, making it challenging to grow professionally or feel valued as an employee. Limited Growth Opportunities: Despite promises of growth and advancement, it was evident that Hopper did not prioritize the development of its employees. Opportunities for career progression were minimal, and the company seemed more focused on short-term goals rather than investing in the long-term success of its workforce. Compensation and Benefits: The compensation and benefits package at Hopper were underwhelming, considering the demands and expectations placed on employees. It was disappointing to see that the company did not adequately recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of its staff. In conclusion, my experience at Hopper was far from positive. The combination of poor work-life balance, ineffective communication, a toxic work environment, inadequate management, limited growth opportunities, and subpar compensation made it a regrettable choice for employment. I would caution others considering working at Hopper to carefully evaluate their options and weigh the potential negatives before making a decision.

Pros

- WFH - good teammates - benefits

Cons

- Layoffs every year - Leadership is not transparent - Only goal seems to be making more money now as opposed to making a good product, and management does not take advice for how to run anything.
