Hobby work. Nice coworkers and bosses. Fun company events.

Cons

Lower base pay than compared to local entry jobs even with decades of experience. Entry positions feel like a number at times more than part of the family.

The people who you work with a great. The California office still has a family feel.

Cons

Pay isn't competitive, no place for advancement once you are a product developer in the California office. More room for career advancement at corporate in IL. Work never stops if you want your projects to be successful because of the time difference between China and the U.S. Vendor reach out to you after you get "off" work, when at home. No compensation for using your personal phone for work.
