Pros

I work within the Product Development at Horizon and consider myself fortunate to have the chance to do so. Horizon Hobby presents an incredible atmosphere to pursue dreams. As a modeler, or even a casual enthusiast, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the industry and to bring joy to others along the way. Having come to Horizon Hobby from another company, the work environment here is such that it allows you to remain engaged and entrenched in all facets of the hobby and in shaping your future within the company, too. Horizon recognizes staff members for their hard-work, dedication and diligence and will not hesitate to position these members for advancement in the corporation. The staff is both enthusiastic and passionate about the hobby and does a fantastic job of engaging employees and encouraging involvement and innovation within the industry. President and CEO, Joe Ambrose, is active within the company and takes a hands-on approach. He is committed to not only the staff members but also to the community as well as a multitude of charitable organizations that benefit from Horizon Hobby's involvement. Joe and Horizon Hobby contribute both time and financial assistance to these charitable organizations...without any desire for recognition or acknowledgement. Horizon provides one with the tools for success...don't hesitate to grasp this and propel your career! You'll be glad you did so!

Cons

This will sound 'canned' or cliche, however, there really isn't a down-side to working with Horizon. It's no wonder that employees remain loyal and dedicated to their position, to Horizon, and to the industry- the encouragement provided to all is stupendous.

Pros

If you are into the RC hobby industry, this job is amazing, especially if you are in a team with direct influence on what goes into future products. The atmosphere, for me at least, was one of collaboration and enjoyment, which when paired with the work load, was perfect for a life balance. I interacted with my manager, a director, engineers, and product developers. Each one is highly invested in keeping the company profitable and fun.

Cons

The hobby industry is not a huge market, so there is potential that resources could be an issue one day. With that said, that also means there is a lot of room for growth. As for compensation and benefits, I feel like there should be more vacation offered to employees.

Pros

Efficient and professional management. If you work well then the cross training will come and helps to keep the day interesting. Friendly coworkers willing to help out.

Cons

Work hours and load tend to be very seasonal. Heavy in the winter and light in the summer. End of day hours fluctuate based on day of the week and time of month.
