Pros

Good pay Friendly co-workers Discounts on Hormel food products

Cons

No work life balance, Long hours with limited work force. Must wear company uniform plus smok, hairnet, beard net and hardhat. Can be annoying when it's already hot and you're forced to wear 3 layers of clothes. Seasoned employees don't actually put in any effort to "train" new hires, you better know what to do or expect to be kicked to the curb. Lots of standing/walking around waiting for calls to come in over the radio. Supervisors play favorites and give easier tasks to the ones they like.

Pros

The pay is decent for the area.

Cons

They rotate production and maintenance supervisors almost annually. So just when the supervisor starts to grasp their job they're moved from the area. Which leads to common issues through the years being repeated. They don't ask the opinion of the mechanic who has seen these people come and go and worked through said issues repeatedly. If you've held a position in that plant for more than a year you know more than your supervisor. Insert haughty fresh out of college supervisor that thinks they know more than you about your job. You can forget asking them for direction, they ask YOU for direction. The people in positions above Team Leader are extremely arrogant and petty. To the point where they can't control their snide remarks on the radio.
