Outside sales representative read before excepting a position with them.......
Pros
Great base, decent commission structure, large protected territory. Corporate AMEX and decent medical coverage. Branch Manager and team was FANTASTIC and made the job worth it. The people at corporate frighted me......
Cons
Unless you're in upper management, no position in this company is safe, and I'm sure that isn't even guaranteed. Regardless if you over-perform or just hit your EXPECTED metrics, they use "scare tactics" to motivate you. Most reps that have been there will agree. Increased sales by doubling the territory over the previous year, and had all but 3 months where there was revenue growth and that STILL wasn't good enough. Was served my walking papers after a year, and just started to develop the trust and confidence in my customer base. Great pay, but just make sure you basically DOUBLE your sales every single month. The owner could care less what you did the quarter before or the year before, they want EVERY SINGLE month to have an increase in revenue. And if there are quality issues or delivery time frames that aren't met and customers stop ordering, it's on you.
