      Pros

      The assistant principal helped nurture and develop my talent and management skills. My colleagues were a supportive community.

      Cons

      There was a lot of paperwork to maintain Individual records and lesson plans separate from the class as a whole. It was time consuming and took time away from other teaching. Some of it was necessary for appropriate documentation.

      Great Training. Good starting job.

      Cons

      If you work in a school with apartments : high turnover and you may receive a bad review the second year. If you over 50 bad reviews begin. Over half are under 5 yrs experience for a reason. You will need a teacher's organization for a good lawyer.

      Summer time off away from everything HISD!

      -Disorganization from the central office down to school staff -25+ class sizes -mediocre training -poor communication -excessive weekly teacher observations and testing -campus safety needs improvement
