      Pros

      large number of schools, so you are almost assured a job

      Cons

      the LOW pay as compared to the surrounding school districts - $3,000 to $4,000 less! Also, no suspension of students in the primary grades! So, we are stuck putting up with highly disruptive students. Administration doesn't do anything with them, but teachers are left to deal with them.

      I love that we had an opportunity to get into the Houston ISD school system.
