Working with kids, the paid time off as well as summer vacation. They give insurance as well as other benefits

Cons

The salary is too low, the staff seems to gossip and pretend. Principal is unaware of a lot of the children's and teachers needs

Flexible, work when you like, and its fun at times

Cons

Sometimes assigments accepted can end up being disasters, because the home teacher did not leave assignments. The kids always need direction in order to maintain classroom control, so if the teacher did not leave any work, then its hard on the sub to control them.

- Location - Opportunity for salary raises and bonuses - Opportunity for promotion within school, but this depends on the school - Cost of living in Houston is low, and salary is appropriate

Cons

- Very high-stakes testing driven - Lots of staff turnover in specific schools - High rate of TFA teachers - Many teachers leave for KIPP, Yes Prep, or other charters - Experience just really varies by school.
