      Pros

      Good pay and benefits. Worked with good teachers who shared ideas and willing to help.

      Cons

      No support from administration at all. When asked for help it was counted against evaluation. Principal "fixed" my evaluation so I couldn't get ASPIRE bonus because I had put in my Early Resignation that the district requested we put in if we knew we were not returning the following year. Student behavior is blamed totally on the teacher. Unorganized. They would spring deadlines and meetings at the last minute as if we had no personal lives.

      Pros

      Low cost of living and relatively high pay (given that it's teaching). Support for new teachers present. Trying to move toward a variable compensation scheme that incentivizes good performance.

      Cons

      Like all teaching jobs, difficult to move up or accept more responsibility without leaving the classroom behind. Pay is mainly seniority based, though they have been flattening that curve in recent years.

      Pros

      For the most part, teachers are compensated competitively, good benefits, and dpending on where you work, you will often have opportunities to supplement your income.

      Cons

      Most of the schools are inner city schools. With that comes a tough clientele, large class sizes, and a high faculty turnover. Not much support in the way of class materials.
