Houston Methodist reviews

Boring. Secretaries hate you because you steal their work and can barely have interaction with the patients. The most I ever did here was 15 mins of passing out water that was a fun time. I wanted to read a small summer reading book no dice. I was asked to put it away. It's sometimes unpleasant to see how physicians arrogantly interact with other staff members without a medical degree. They will be polite one minute and rude the next. One physician kept insisting that I should be a nurse (I'm a girl?) when I was there to see how being a doctor is. Medical interns are nice and gave some advice on whim. Nobody smiles back. Rude. This is Texas people. I was a volunteer a smaller burn hospital in Galveston, it was disorganized but 100% better. I was allowed to interact and play with patients and have made lifelong friendships there. Maybe methodist is just to big to make an experience like that. Volunteer events (Christmas, Easter, etc) were held during the day....we can't skip school 🤷‍♀️.

it is the people who make working here bad. pay is lousy, no way for security to protect themselves , security is at the bottom of the totem pole here, promotions don't exist, transferring to another houston methodist facility is far fetched.
