      Micromanagement, push to work harder with minimal staff, burnout, always being asked to come in on day off, come in early or stay late.

      Thank you for your 6+ years of dedication to Houston Methodist. We recognize the impact of the nationwide nursing shortage. That's why Houston Methodist launched our System RN Float Pool Program in September 2021 to help alleviate demands on our nurses. Today we have over 250 float nurses (PRN or FT with benefits) who each work at up to three of our hospitals.

      Pros

      Methodist definitely has a competitive pay! As a company they do take care of their employees financially.

      Cons

      I wish their insurance plan was better. I will say that where I’m currently working (not all departments), the doctors come first even when they’ve verbally offended the staff. The staff is asked to pushed through it :) some doctors retaliate when concerns are expressed to management.
