Pros

- Small bonuses throughout the year

Cons

- Toxic environment - High volume, low pay - Expected to perform like a trauma hospital when it is not classified as one. - 3% raises or lower. - No market adjustment in the last 3 years. - They Sell you by saying "Their culture is the best" - I would prefer the $10 more an hour from the hospital across the street. Don't let them fool you. Stay stern with their recruiters - they know what they are doing.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and are glad you have found value in bonuses. We recognize the concerns you’ve raised around workload, compensation and culture and encourage you to speak with your manager or HR for transparency and solutioning. Regarding recruitment, candidates should clearly communicate their compensation needs. However, taking a stern approach with recruiters is not recommended, as it may negatively impact the hiring process. While there may be room for discussion, compensation decisions are guided by internal equity and market data, not open-ended negotiation. Keep in mind that Houston Methodist is fiscally responsible and does not engage in systemwide layoffs like many other organizations. If you are interested in working for a level 1 trauma center, explore open roles at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
