Pros

Great benefits, frequent bonuses and healthcare is great if you use their in network doctors - Out of network is a little more expensive. PTO accrues regularly and increases after a certain service point. Lots of support for continuing education and career building

Cons

Lack of transparency in salaries, titles, promotions

Pros

Marc Boom is an excellent leader. The acceptance of diversity (DEI). Nice extra benefits such as discounts, little gifts, etc....

Cons

They pay poorly. It is way out of line relative to the local market. The leadership of the outpatient SPG Willowbrook leaves a lot to be desired. Working at the location was right out of a Kafka novel, with a multitude of nameless, faceless administrators running around with no clear function other than to gaslight and ambush employees. It is a toxic and dysfunctional system. Overly focused on money. This means making providers work harder and compromising patient care in order to make managers look good. Is it worth risking your license for this? They introduced a new program before I left called "Joy In Medicine." They seem to be moving toward making this an oxymoron.

Thank you for your three years of service as a Nurse Practitioner at Houston Methodist. We appreciate your acknowledgement of system leadership, benefits and our commitment to diversity, but are concerned by your comments related to compensation, clinic leadership and work environment. To make the most impact, we encourage current employees to raise concerns with management or Human Resources so they can be reviewed and addressed appropriately. We remain committed to supporting our providers and fostering a respectful, patient-centered workplace.
