Pros

Autonomy, Mentorship, Small Teams, Strong leadership, engineering focus, Growing quickly

Cons

None for me. Some might that teams have too much autonomy, that the pace is a bit quick, or that the team is a bit young (average age is 28), but I like it. Also, a small percentage of people have been here for more than 5 years, though those people tend to have a lot of influence.

Thanks for the review and taking the time to share it, I really appreciate it. I like that you callout the autonomy and small teams as a pro for core engineering, and I appreciate that you note a few things that could be drawbacks for folks evaluating HubSpot as candidates. Thanks for writing this up, particularly given that it's such a busy time for the engineering team pre-INBOUND! Sincerely, Katie

Pros

Great place to work! The people are the best - very friendly and ready to help you. I work on the consulting side, and I love it. The product itself is incredible and is always being improved and grown. An awesome place to learn - cannot stress enough how much I have grown in my two years. Oh, also the benefits are amazing!! The culture team is fantastic and always has events and great opportunities. Come here if you have HEART!

Cons

It is a big company, and if you are in an international office then you could feel disconnected from HQ in Cambridge. HubSpot is also always changing, which I like, but I know constant change is not for everyone. There is also a big push for greater diversity, but the company is still not very diverse. I know it is a priority for the leadership team, but the lack of diversity is a con. Another con is compensation - salary is less than competitors.

Thanks for writing this up and for helping HubSpot grow! Constant change is definitely a challenge and opportunity here, and I definitely agree we need to double down on diversity and keep moving the needle there. Appreciate you taking the time to share this with our candidates and with our team to get your feedback and continue to grow--thank you for all that you do every day! -Katie

Definitely agree we have a lot of new managers, but we are doing a lot even in the next few months to empower them and improve. The most unnverving part of your review to me is the "ego driven culture" part of it--that's precisely the opposite of what we are trying to build here, so I'm bummed that's how you experience it. Would welcome additional feedback in person on how we move the needle there if you're open to sharing it, thanks for helping us improve by sharing your thoughts. -Katie
