Pros

Located in Cambridge, where there is a good Tech scene. Hubspot does some work in Big data that is of interest to a lot of people trying to get into Tech

Cons

There is just so much bureaucracy and politics within the company that it creates a lot of confusion and uncertainty. You can never be sure what your career path will be at Hubspot as most decisions are made behind close doors and poorly communicated. Also,I am actively looking for other Tech jobs in the Cambridge area and am noticing that brand value for working at Hubspot id falling fast. ADVICE for new hires: Get everything in writing and don't accept any verbal promises

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry to hear that your experience fell short of your expectations and frankly of what we expect for ourselves and for our employees. While I don't agree that the brand value of working at HubSpot is falling, I do want to actively make sure that there isn't a gap between what folks think they will be doing and experiencing every day and what working here is actually like, so would love to hear from you more specifics on where we can improve there if you're up for a conversation on this one--we are constantly looking for ways to improve every part of the candidate and employee experience, so anytime you're up for a conversation, I'd welcome it.

Pros

+ Smart, motivated team + Modern tech. stack + Leadership solicits and takes action on feedback, actually seems to care + Lots of ownership and impact even as company grows

Cons

- Flip-side of ownership makes prioritization hard, more things to build then time to build them

Thanks for the thoughtful review--I think you're right that the flip side of ownership can make prioritizing a challenge, so I'll think of ways we can highlight some best practices employees have used to navigate that balance successfully---thanks so much for flagging this. -Katie Burke

Pros

The growth here is real, you are constantly learning something new and working with individuals of different positions in different departments which makes for an amazing learning experience. The work/life balance is also a huge win - people respect that you have lives outside of work and that respect makes you work even harder.

Cons

Sometimes you have a ton of projects to work on at once and it seems overwhelming but it is a great challenge and you have endless amounts of resources and individuals who are happy to help.

Thank you for your review--I think one thing that's clear is we can do a better job of helping people figure out how to juggle multiple projects on their own, so more to follow there on how to tackle that--thank you for your input, and so glad to hear you're enjoying the benefits of radical transparency--I agree that it's one of the things that makes HubSpot remarkable as we scale, so keep us honest about maintaining it! -Katie Burke
