Pros

Colleagues are great to work with.

Cons

No bonuses for individual contributors, lower than standard pay, lack of clarity as to the true state of the company and boasting about “working for the customer” simply means they are in it for the revenue and do not care about their employees. This has been shown with their recent layoffs after celebrating how well we did closing out 2022, leaving the current workforce to handle double, if not triple the load.

Losing Focus on Employees

Pros

Used to be a great place to work where you could work hard and play hard with coworker and manager alike - a lot of camaraderie. Now, it feels like more of a work hard or harder kind of place.

Cons

Don't feel valued by management. Trainings are solely focused on product changes; there's absolutely no focus on career advancement or employee growth. Feels like you need to know someone in other departments in order to branch out within the organization career-wise.

Really saddened to read this one, sorry to hear that you're not feeling valued at HubSpot. Happy to chat more in person if you feel comfortable doing so, or to have you as part of the career growth brainstorms we are holding in response to ENPS feedback if you'd rather not identify yourself--the goal is to get a lot of great ideas to help us move forward specifically on career growth progression, so would love your input to be part of that equation. Thanks for helping us improve here and keeping us accountable for prioritizing employees, Katie

Pros

- smart people - interesting product - can make a big impact - decent benefits and free food - good location near a T stop

Cons

The unlimited vacation policy is really just for PR. Sales people can't take vacation unless they claim quota relief months in advance, otherwise you'll go on vacation but risk being fired because you didn't hit quota. And in other departments, you have to work throughout your vacation just to keep up, or work 80+ hour weeks before and after your vacation (which kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?). The office is so full of intense, A-type personalities, which can be a good thing for being around smart people, but also a bad thing because nobody EVER stops working, so you feel like you can't either. This leads to unnecessary burnout and miserable employees.
