Pros

Decent salary for the postion compared to other job offers on the market, good health insurance

Cons

Since Hubspot understaffed support via the 7% workforce reduction earlier this year , and this short staffing has been further exacerbated by massive attrition since, Hubspot's culture has shifted dramatically. Leadership doesnt care about experience, seniority, or history of loyalty in employees. All that matters now is your production numbers this month. There is no context that can explain low numbers and no compassion for employees. I personally know a mentor-type person with years of experience who was cut loose in recent months after their numbers dropped due to stress caused by their move across the country, and the general burn-out culture we work in 40 hours a week. Everyone i know is leaving as quickly as possible. This ship is sinking while on fire

Sorry to hear about your experience in Support and your frustration with the culture-not sure there is much I can say/do that would change your opinion here, but appreciate the feedback and you making the time to share it. -Katie

Pros

The company offers an incredible culture and worklife balance.

Cons

The company allows a lot of manager abuses to take place and go unchecked. Depending on the group you are in, this isn't a place to truly grow your career unless you're willing to spend significant time.

This is a tough one to read, I'm sorry to hear your experience with us was less than stellar. We investigate every single employee claim as it relates to accusations of mismanagement, so I strongly refute that we allow any claim to go uninvestigated and followed up on, but nonetheless I'm saddened to hear that you left a company where you felt the overall culture was great because of a manager situation that was suboptimal. I'm spending a lot of time with Alison as it relates to the culture and leadership of the services org, so will look at any recent challenges or issues that are flagged as part of that conversation and hopefully make meaningful improvement around any concerns or issues you reference above. As always, happy to hear feedback on what we can do better, thanks for sharing it. -Katie

A place to start, but definitely not a place to stay.

Pros

When you get hired at HubSpot, they make you feel like you hit the jackpot upon jackpots. And in some ways they're right. Fun company culture, lots of free food and cool perks like unlimited vacation and sexy office space. If you are lucky to get a good manager, you can have a great career path at HubSpot. There are many people who have done very well because they are talented and smart, but also because they had a good manager advocating for their success. It's a great place to start if you're looking to get a cool name on your resume and learn the ins and outs of a SaaS company.

Cons

There are so many holes in this company that a candy wall and unlimited vacation cannot fix. Promotions are totally out of control. There are many senior employees who do not deserve the titles or pay they have and continuously get away with underperforming and mismanaging their teams. There is a complete lack of management training so people who are promoted into a management role have ZERO idea what they're doing. Company feedback forms clearly identified that junior employees felt there was a lack of management and senior employees acknowledged the absence of management training. Nothing was done about that when I was there. Salary was also a huge pain point across many departments. For one of the more expensive cities in the country and a company that claims to be doing extremely well, they could afford to pay employees (who are claimed to be extremely important), more than the bare minimum. It was heartbreaking to see a chart shared at a company meeting listing what an entry level employee should be making at a software company and it was $10k more than what employees are offered in entry level roles. Seriously?
