Pros

The company as a whole has some appealing benefits and structure.

Cons

Extremely high turnover in the department — I witnessed multiple departures in a short span. Interview presented the role as supportive, growth-oriented, and ideal for someone transitioning from a junior role. However, the day-to-day experience did not reflect that. Management style was micromanaging, unsupportive, and at times inconsistent with what was communicated during the hiring process. Lack of clarity around expectations and very little room for learning or feedback, despite being marketed as a learning opportunity. Was let go with no clear explanation after less than a month, despite working to meet the expectations given.

Pros

Satisfaction from job. Nothing else

Cons

You will work your butt off at understaffed branches and receive no incentive for your hard work unless you’re a banker or higher. If you don’t hit numbers you’re not valued. If you go to HR with concerns of harassment or being terrorized by your branch manager, your concerns and case will be ignored for months, even when you keep adding details to your case. HR will assure you they are investigating when they really aren’t. If Huntington had investigated my claims when raised they would have seen how I describe the decline in my mental health under my branch manager L. M. It wasn’t until I was at my breaking point HR stepped in but rather than protect the employee who had been harassed and traumatized (and even when you have medical documentation supporting your treatment) HR will side with the person in a higher position. This company says they value all customers and colleagues. That is a flat out lie. I worked with a BM who insisted we not schedule him time wasters (low income, ethnic, or “frequent offenders”) that is not Huntingtons value, however you protected that BM and allow him to continue to earn a paycheck he doesn’t work for and terrorize others and commit prejudice against customers. I had to beg my manger to take customers, high value, long time customer, is bringing in large check. I should not have to beg a manager to do his job. Huntington employees people who are not effective leaders. Under my last year at Huntington, I worked for a manger who did not follow policies, procedures or live by Huntingtons values. When I would have my one on ones with my managers it was more like a one on none. I was belittled, put down, given write ups for something I did not do against policy. If you are seeking a career from a company who will run you ragged and blow smoke out of their holes this is the company for you. If you don’t want to work in a living h*** you will not consider this company for employment. You will be fired for anything, even breathing incorrectly. Don’t expect incentives Your colleague appreciation week gift is a tax deductible donation (but here the catch - only tax deductible from Huntington). If you’re anything above a glorified teller you will be treated well. If you’re not, you’re in for a living hell So heed my warning if you value your mental health, physical health and sanity you will not submit an application here.
