Pros

The pay is competitive. Because the company is conservative, it seems to do well financially. The benefits are competitive with other companies.

Cons

Lots of politics that drive how well you do in the company. Progression has nothing to do with competency and everything to do with who you know. Two tiered system. Some groups get treated like gold. Other groups are treated like servants.

Pros

The compensation is quite good. The oil & gas sector generally pays quite well and Husky is no exception. There are a fair number of knowledgeable people that work there and Husky has a fair number of complex areas. This makes for some great learning opportunities for self-motivated employees. They are also fairly good about time off, as long as you have a decent manager.

Cons

There are very few formal programs for staff development and career growth. Training budgets are fairly low. The morale in Q2 2009 is as low as it has been in a long time. With the drop in oil prices, many good people are being let go. Senior management controls a lot of details that are delegated down in other organizations. This leads to people that seem scared to make a decision.
