IT is great but C suite isn’t

Pros

The verticals in IT are all great people. Specifically in the digital vertical. It feels like a small company even though it is large. Software Engineering managers and product people are great to work with. The Software Engineers are given a lot of responsibility and are trusted.

Cons

CEO does not know how IT works. He has clearly stated that he thinks IT does nothing and it is unnecessary. It’s unfortunate because the actual IT department is great. He also has handpicked most of the people around him so they follow right along with him.

Pros

Company cares about quality and prices. Most of the employees at their technology shop (HST) are kind and all of them are smart.

Cons

They don't know what they are doing when it comes to delivering working software or working effectively with vendors. Software managers are dis-empowered and don't even know how much their employees are making. Some of the managers are incredibly rude. Non-inclusive. People who complain about broken things are punished for speaking up even when it's there job to do so.

Leadership was pleasant, culture is not bad, and some new tech

Cons

TONS of legacy, people leaving make it hard to innovate quickly. The lure of the campus hides the fact that it's a legacy corporation trying desperately to keep up with the industry. Doesn't seem you can advance high up in the company without 20 years of grocery experiance. Grocery > Tech here.
