Pros

Senior Technical Staff are huge resources of info. Opportunities for learning, mentorship abound. Can contribute to multiple areas.

Cons

Poor sub-team cohesion (YMMV). Inexact internal hiring process, actual job details different from that which was described.

Pros

People in IBM are generally very eager to help me acclimate, and generally very knowledgeable. Very flexible work environment- work form home isn't frowned upon. Interesting projects and work on the most advanced nodes. Very competitive salary and benefit package- and free food occasionally.

Cons

Can be unstructured at times but this comes with a rapidly evolving R&D environment.
