Pros

I had a great team and a great manager which made my experience at IBM very positive for the most part despite constant internal churn with reorganizations, leadership changes and compensations issues. However, after my departure I would not recommend working at IBM.

Cons

I left to take an opportunity outside of IBM in February of 2022. I had overall great experience working at IBM over my 3 years at the Company. Upon putting in my two weeks I was immediately notified with 1 hour that it would be my last day. I had ended the previous fiscal year FY 2021 at 176% of my sales quota. After waiting 6 plus months to receive payment of my commissions I was notified that I would not be compensated for any of the deals that closed in Q4 of FY'21 I was eliminated from the payment sales pool from one of my deals. The IBM team justified that because I was no longer working at the company in FY'22 I did not deserve to be compensated as part of the team. The deal was closed in December of 2021. On another deal, again, the IBM team justified that because I no longer work at IBM and I did not sign a quota for FY'22 that I am not entitled to compensation under the FY'21 compensation plan which I did sign. IBM is notorious for setting up Sales Plans and not compensating its Sales Team in a fair manner. In addition, IBM does not pay on time. IBMer's are still waiting to be compensated for December 2021 commissions.

Pros

Everyone I have met is top notch and on their game. Exceptional training. Exceptional tools. Exceptional Support The best thing about IBM is the Depth and Breadth of skills

Cons

NONE The worst thing about IBM is the Depth and Breadth of skills. You can get yourself lost in expertise sometimes but having all this knowledge to draw from is absolutely awesome and EVERYONE is ready to jump in and help, just waiting to be asked or to find a place to contribute.

As yours and other reviews say, one of IBM’s pride is its culture of learning – whether through training, exploring with the latest tools, or working with the some of the brightest minds.

Pros

Good resume filler (that’s it)

Cons

Management so disconnected from the actual work, truly unbelievable. All they care about is hiring enough people. Placing people in rolls they are prepared for? Nope. Paying people what they are worth? Nope. Overall interest in the employees and their lives outside of work? Nope. When leaving, my manager told me I was making a “big mistake”. What kind of manager does that? All they would push is the hiring number they had to reach. That’s it, you don’t matter to them at all. The leader of the office once said “I sometimes forget you guys have families” to us employees at the company picnic. Awesome! Way to reassure me that this place is a terrible work environment. Terrible training plan, huge disconnect from “core” IBM. Embarrassing to even say I contributed to that office.
