Pros
Ibm bought the company I was working at before I was an IBM employee. For the first year we basically dealt with engagements that were already started or were in the pipeline. After integrating, with the IBM nd it sales team, its like they didn't know we existed or hat we do so a lot of work went to other departments.
Cons
As an observation, IBM buys companies, and either lets them stand alone. As an example , an IBM company. Or they buy and a year later completely drop the old companies name. In the 3 years after 'Transfer of employment' (becoming IBM employees proper). The life span isn't long. I would guess of all of my previous coworkers at the company IBM bought, 30% or less are still there. Random RA's public sold to the public "as due to AI" are not the entire story. Seems the RA's come when sales are down and to keep stock price up, someone figure the magic number and look for salaries to cut a people along with them. I served 4 the 5th one got me. I assure you AI had nothin to do with AI. The down side is no one know who left. Peer, mentees, etc, gossip and getting bunce back email or not able to slack are how you find out. Managers aren't allowed to speak about it. The other side and far more concerning is while people come and go, when several people in your department/team/engagement leave, You ae expected to pick up the slack and deliver on the same timeline with fewer resources, or new far less experienced resources join, If you are in the area between a manager and lesser experienced (lower band rating) it's like being an endangered species. Another serious issue is middle management bloat. On certain engagements there are so many people involved that you get different directions from different people DAILY and it is counterintuitive to success. That's my $.02
