Pros

There are not many advantages to working at this consulting firm, which claims to be superior to the Big 4, but it falls short.

Cons

It's a consulting firm. You get hired for a particular contract, and if the contract gets canceled or ends, you will need to find other projects. It can be challenging to stay employed here for the long term. I recommend exploring opportunities with different employers. Additionally, the pay and benefits are very subpar compared to other organizations. If I could give this company zero stars, I would, as it's been a horrible employment experience.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. Projects come in ebbs and flows in consulting work, which can be challenging, especially regarding the uncertainty of contract-based projects. Our team is committed to supporting employees by providing resources and opportunities to find new projects within ICF. Have you checked out Mentor Connect, for example? This can help you network within the company, and we've even seen people take on new opportunities through those connections. There's also a really good resource for project managers that can help you network with your peers. Definitely check those out if you haven't already done so. Regarding pay, it can be tough coming into a new job and negotiating your salary. We annually benchmark salaries and compensation to ensure they are fair and competitive. Do take the opportunity to talk with your manager through an impact conversation to advocate what you want and discuss opportunities to grow. You can also find helpful guidance documents through our intranet to help with those conversations. I hope these resources are helpful as you continue your career journey with us. MD

Pros

Very organized. The position was remote and ICF was very well set up to accomodate a remote work schedule.

Cons

I was only familiar and worked with my immediate supervisor. There was not much direction If anything needed to be escalated to a higher level of management.

Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughtful recommendation. It’s nice to hear you appreciate remote work. When working remotely, it can be challenging to navigate and meet people in a larger company. ICF offers many ways to connect beyond your immediate team to others around the globe, including a mentorship program, communities of practice, employee community networks, Engage groups, and various collaborative learning opportunities. - KZ
