Pros

It's a job I guess.

Cons

ICF treats their employees as resources. They have zero interest in understanding who you are as a person or your unique skillset. You are not allowed to make mistakes. You must be perfect at all times; any mistake you make, you are let go, which creates a culture of fear. There is no room for training, growth, and development. Leadership is not open to the ideas of others. It's really sad to watch how horribly they treat people.

We appreciate the time you've taken to provide your feedback. First and foremost, you are a human being, and we want everyone to feel as such during their tenure at ICF. While we do our best to actively engage with employees and hear their feedback, we don't want you to suffer in silence. If you have already tried discussing this with your manager, try an alternative route with your HR business partner. They're there to support your interests. -HS

Thanks for sharing your review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the benefits ICF has to offer - there are so many available for all employees to take advantage of. Yes! There are absolutely pros and cons to joining a large company. And just like choosing the right university, it's important to take stock of what is best for you. And the trade-offs of each. Some people thrive in small companies where each person may manage multiple functions. For instance, an Office Manager may handle all things HR, Payroll, contracts, and payments. Others like the specialization, systems, and centralized structures that are possible when a company has many global employees. With entire teams dedicated to the examples above to provide needed scale and efficiency. I have been in both environments, and for me, ICF has the right balance of internal programs and leadership commitment to ensure everyone has what they need to belong, grow, and thrive. Granted - a lot of that is self-service - so I recommend following the weekly all-company updates each Monday, your group leader updates along with any local meetings and announcements to be sure you're in the loop with offerings. I would connect with your buddy, mentor, or HR Business Partner if you need help navigating these things. --- LL
