      Just another large corporation

      Pros

      You can gain experience through all of the different types of work. They have different mentor programs. I enjoyed the people I worked with.

      Cons

      It is a large government consulting firm, lots of management, a lot of people telling you what to do. The pay and employee benefits could be better.

      Ok company, limited growth opportunities

      Pros

      Great environment, friendly colleagues, good place to work for entry-level staff, flexibility with working from home.

      Cons

      Project involvement is based on who you know and who advocates for you. Company is very top heavy with a lot of higher level managerial positions impeding lower level staff to obtain technical skills and be promoted. Thus creating an atmosphere of competition amongst staff. If promoted it is not always based on merit. Extremely long hours with attitude that one can be easily replaced. Lack of communication among all of ICF.

Our most senior team actually only consists of just a little more than a dozen people, for a company of over 5,000. This could be a product of your immediate situation and we would encourage you to partner with a member of Human Resources to address it.

      Great company with great work culture

      Pros

      This is a great company with great work environment. Not cut-throat like huge consulting firms but sizable enough to receive all the perks of working for a well-established firm. Management promotes work-life balance and actually practices it. Of course, there are crazy proposal seasons and 50+ hr weeks, but it's rare and you usually have stable working schedule and hours.

      Cons

      With the more relaxed working environment comes less compensation. For me, it's definitely worth it to not have to stress over work 24/7.
