Pros

In the technology dept., they have tracks. As a senior associate, they push you to choose a track & go toward technical specialist, business development or project management. If you are interested in moving up the ladder & willing to work hard, the opportunity for growth is there. They are somewhat lenient with allowing people to telecommute. The hours are flexible. Some people roll in after 11 PM to start the business day.

Cons

This is a company that does not care about their people. Management will underbid contracts and hire incompetent developers, and then push the few people who can actually do the work to spend entire nights at the office & entire weekends in order to make the deliverable/schedule in order to save face. I have noticed that in the tech dept., more than half are here on work Visas. So they probably feel that those people are lucky to have a job, to be here in the US, and think that they will work to death because if they do not then they will have to find another sponsor to stay in this country.

Honestly there are not to many cons here, The compensation is not what other companies pay, but if you work for it and ask for it, you have the ability to get it

Pros

The People. The depth and breadth of knowledge among the staff is a great reason to work at ICF. When you face a challenge, you can often walk down the hall and get 3 practical suggestions about how to begin to tackle it. Also, many of the staff come to ICF with direct field experience in environment, energy, human services, or community programs. This frontline experience helps project teams come up with good, practical results. The Work. Many of the projects I work on have an impact. They shape policy, or make a difference for organizations working in communities and the environment. Don't get me wrong. Like all professional services and consulting firms, there are a number of projects that don't. But I have found that many that I work on do make a difference. The Opportunity to Learn. I have learned a lot from both my work on projects, and from several of the training courses offered by the company. Some of the training courses are duds, but I have found several that were quite helpful.

Cons

Company needs to do a better job of integrating aquisitions. Over time, staff from aquired companies seem to find their way. But, initially, they seem to struggle.
