Pros

Generous PTO. You'll need it to preserve your mental health.

Cons

Annual raises are fixed per department and distributed on a bell curve. So if one person gets a "decent" raise, then others in the department must get less, even if all did a phenomenal job. This completely removes any incentive to go above and beyond. Refuses to replace workers who leave, or they replace them with much more junior (i.e. cheaper) new hires. Has quarterly meetings to brag about record revenue while refusing to increase bonuses and salaries accordingly. New hires can take months to be hired and by then, candidates have often found employment elsewhere. Dismal healthcare plans, and HR tries to push employees into plans that cost the company less but employees more.

Pros

Not much other than learning how a company/job site should not be run, especially one that is in an industry that should be focused on the lives of patients.

Cons

It’s difficult to know where to start, critical thinkers are extremely undervalued, there is very clear favoritism. None of the groups want to work together and there is constant blaming and shaming when things don’t go as planned and never any praise when good work is done. The pressure on the lab is immense and there isn’t any clear direction on projects. Some of the members of management are narcissistic and have no problem lying about others to make themselves look better. The work being done is decreasing in quality due to the amount of pressure for perfection that exists from top to bottom. It doesn’t seem like it will ever get better. There is no other place to work in the field in the area and upper management know it and take advantage of people they view as being “stuck” in the area and severely underpay them. I would not recommend anyone to work here, even my worst enemies. This place is terrible, you’d be better off moving to where there are more jobs than to waste your time working here.

Pros

Flexible schedule that you can pick, benefits are great

Cons

Like any other company the CTA management pretends that they value you and your professional development but they don't. Management will say you have to wait 12 months to apply for another position within the company. They will send out emails discouraging you from applying and then turn around and let people with less experience and education that they like apply for positions without having worked for the company for 12 months. The pay is terrible. Mostly everyone who is not married or who has not been there long has two jobs just to sustain themselves.
