Pros

NONE. Run in the opposite direction. "Leadership" at this company is totally disconnected from the day-today. No strategy, unfounded values, absolutely no regard for work-life-balance. Modern day slavery at it's best.

Cons

Micromanagement, lack of empathy, focusing on blame instead of solutions, not leading by example, using their team as pawns, lack of focus, and poor communication if any at all are some of the top issues at ICON. Not to mention a huge lack of transparency internal and external.

Pros

I loved working with everyone, even the people that made you have a headache were just all trying to do their best. Working from home was nice, you have such a great home life balance that it was hard to leave because of that - you work based on how much you have done and sometimes its okay to leave it to the next day. PTO is great, 20 days starting out (sick and vaca combined) and you can rollover 5 days. I had 27 by the end of my tenure without the rollover.

Cons

I am pretty crude but if you want to do anything to please the shareholders you will be on knees to do it for them - meaning if the entire 40k+ employees do a great job and the market sucks then bye bye promotion and raise. In the 5 years I was here I got 2 raises that were equivalent to maybe 7%. I was also laid off the year prior before finding a similar job in the field I was in and got offered a whopping 1.9% in salary. I was held that carrot of advancement for 3 years before I realized I couldn't do anything but move on from another company. HR is a joke, you open up a request for something and they won't get on the phone with you, all through workday and they close the case as soon as you answer the question. No stipen for working from home. Out of all the jobs I've had, its not bad but if you're looking for advancement or pay raises as a young professional, good luck! I say this as a highly successful performer for 3 out of my 5 years.
