      Pros

      Talented team members across departments unfortunately these people are starting to leave due to recent management decisions.

      Cons

      1) Management recently significantly reduced benefits without warning. 2) Annual increases are set up such that no one ever gets better than "meets expectations" and increases are rock bottom at an average of 1.8% for last 3-4 years. 3) ICON was once known for providing a very nicely balanced work/life workload. Not anymore! 4) Good employees are leaving at a steady rate causing instability for teams. Also, when a team member leaves it can be literally months before they are replaced. 5) ICON management does not support their employees from maniacal sponsors. 6) Systems are home grown and outdated.

      Excellent direct manager and a wonderful team of CTAs (who are all being let go)

      Cons

      Steve has decided to have mass layoffs despite excellent business. He wants cheaper labor, so he’s getting rid of talented, dedicated, experienced individuals. Icon culture is solely dedicated to profit. They do not care for their employees. I was extremely lucky to have an amazing direct manager, but I was cut with everyone like a cancerous tumor. If you live in the US (or any 1st world country), I strongly recommend you do not apply.

      Terrible CRO - probably the worst out there

      Pros

      The pay is competitive, which is why most CRA’s move to ICON from other CRO’s and biotech companies (like i did). However, I have never met a happy CRA with ICON. Never. All of us are burnt out and depressed, and have double the workload of a normal CRA with another CRO. there is no work to life balance at all, and the management is very awful. only reason i’m with the company still is because my year ends in a couple of months and i will have to pay back a hefty sign on bonus if i leave before then. unless you are okay with working weekends and until midnight most week nights, i don’t recommend this job. the management doesn’t care about you - i had a panic attack because of the work load and my manager blamed it on me. no, i don’t have a history of anxiety. i will say they have great health insurance and probably other benefits that i’ve had little to no time to explore.

      Cons

      everything else other than the salary. i literally impulsively shop just to find a crumb of joy with working with this terrible company.
