Pros

Relatively laid back company with a few really good people.

Cons

Lots of turnover. Culture is suffering as a result. Seems like there's a million projects and nothing ever gets done because resources are spread across so many projects. Upper management needs to figure out how to steer this new combined ship of Smiths and ICU.

Pros

- Benefits are probably the only great things about this company. - A lot of overtime. People who need the money can always get overtime here. - I've heard that people can move up in the company that's why I applied here but after working for 5 months, I see that its not the case for me.

Cons

- Company and upper management does not care for employees at all. This is why turnover rate is so high. - If you start out as a temp, they can fire you just for calling in sick. If the supervisor does not like you for random reasons, they can fire you. I was sick a few times but could not call in and had to ride it out because I was afraid of getting fired. I finally quit because I could not handle the 12-hour overnight shift. My health was pretty bad at the time. - Too many SOPs and changes. You will be locked out of the building and get written up if you they assign you an SOP and you fail to do it before the deadline. I've heard that sometimes the SOP is due the same date it is assigned. You have to check your SOPs every freaking day. - 2-3 weeks shut down without pay or you are forced to use your PTO. - No free drinks, snacks, drinking cups for employees. The company operates 24/7, the cafeteria closes on weekends and if you didn't pack food, you will need to go buy food. - You have to clock in and out if you leave the company ground. Which means you only get 30 minutes to go pick up food and then you have to clock back in. - Cafeteria food tastes horrible. It tastes worse than frozen dinners. Also when cafeteria is close, you will need to bring your own utensils. - Raises are small and happen slowly over time. - Production Operators cannot switch areas for the first year.

Pros

Constant change (that is poorly thought out and implemented) . There are a lot of good people here. (For now)

Cons

ICU is constantly cost cutting at the expense of the Customers and customer service. It is embarrassing to be in a customer facing position with the constant problems and minimal effort put forth from management. I speak to the upper management. No one at ICU Medical wants to be miserable or do a poor job for their customers (both internal and external). ICU Medical is simply one of those companies that has decided to cut everything down and lower customer expectation such that poor service is the norm.
