Antiquated Mess

Pros

Work/life balance. Nice, supportive team members (management excluded)

Cons

Will tout itself as a "stable" company and then lay off new, valuable hires– layoff rounds are typically every quarter. Pay is relatively low, raises (if you get any) are paltry. Company is FAR behind tech industry standards- we're talking employees openly admitting that they refuse to read or respond to emails, so good luck getting anything done in a timely fashion. Lots of talk of innovation, communication, and teamwork with absolutely nothing to back it up. Company's current strategy seems to be "doing the same old thing" and hiring back company veterans from 20+ years ago in an attempt to "bring back the old IGT magic" so just about all business practices and strategies are from the 80s/90s. Any practices that are considered standard in the tech or commercial product world are met with a primitive fear response and are quickly dismissed as unrealistic. Upper management ranges from inept to insane (or both.)

A Sad Shadow of a Once Great Company--Run!

Pros

Back in the Tom Baker days there was a teamwork and a soul and the company CARED about the employees. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Now it is just more pay and benefit cuts and layoffs. The timing of the merger is probably pretty good.

Cons

Lack of integrity in the pay system. Nothing like blowing away your performance targets, only to have the company renege on paying to play the "bad year" card. The variable pay system is arbitrary and not clearly spelled out, so that they can avoid paying you. No transparency, if you do ____ you get ______ is how it should work, but it doesn't.. The products aren't very good with the star creative game development talent migrating to the competitors Generally were replaced with new college graduates This became a minor league feeder for the other gaming companies. The company has botched the people side. The 401k program is one of the worst in any corporation.

Pros

Flexible hours as long as you are producing. Salary and benefits are good. Nice gym as well as a health and wellness program. There are many incredibly talented, creative and intelligent people who work at this company.

Cons

Employee morale is low and of zero concern to executive management. The knowledge of consistent impending layoffs has reduced motivation, innovation and productivity. Overworked in an atmosphere of fear has increased negative CYA behavior that makes it difficult to be efficient. Layoffs are usually followed by the hiring of new Vice Presidents. Executives are focusing on the online gaming world while not supporting EGMs. There is a clear disconnect between executives and the people making the products.
