Pros

Variety because of so many different systems. Coworkers are great.

Cons

VERY understaffed, except at the top. They want projects done but don't budget for them and then won't approve the money for them. They blame the employees that couldn't get them done. Upper management doesn't talk to the techs and engineers that go on site and neither do the developers. Bad decisions made that end up in systems in casinos for the people that are onsite.

Pros

> Almost no micromanagement > Flexible hours if you find yourself in between projects > They will pay certification exam fees if you can pass the exam

Cons

> Poor compensation system. No matter how hard you work, you will get 2-2.5% as max raise on every 2 years basis > Expect to work on average 80-90 hours per week during the go-lives > No budget for external training, however there are many opportunities to get internal training on their own systems/products > No motivation programs (incentives, bonuses, share profits etc) for employees

Pros

IGT has been a good company to work for. My immediate management team has always been excellent. Onsite cafeteria and Fitness center. Outside walking paths as well. It is a big company with alot of room for advancement. IGT also stresses self improvement and has many opportunities for training.

Cons

IGT continues to go through alot of changes since being bought by GTECH 2 + years ago. There have been staff reductions but typical for a big merger like that has happened.
