Pros

At this point the benefits package is the only reason to work for IKEA. There are a lot of great Coworker Resource Groups that provide a lot of support but the company does not back it up.

Cons

IKEA, at least at the unit I worked at, has completely lost sight of the company values. They've become just another company presenting a mask of inclusion and "family" culture that only cares about money and KPIs. Hard work is not rewarded, and employees going through burnout in response to the company's treatment of them are punished rather than supported. Despite regular promises to promote from within, internal candidates become disillusioned after trying to progress in their development for years with no follow through from the company. IKEA feels no sense of obligation to their workers and makes no effort to keep their word, and management does not follow company procedures which sabotages coworkers who are just trying to protect their job.

Pros

The benefits package is excellent

Cons

Upper management runs the business as if they are the popular kids in school picking their favorites for certain positions while the business is failing In so many areas yet they just keep calling it "realigning the business". There has been a mass exit of many people with tenure. lower management who actually sees the issues and talks to their team to see what changes could actually help the business are pushed against a wall and not allowed to make change, and if they do their job as in corrective action or write ups for those coworkers who are in subordinate or braking policy, then the team lead is generally put in a position where they are forced to quit or fired.
