Pros

Great place to work, good salary, great colleagues. Senior management actually cares about their employees. Expanding company that is secure and exciting

Cons

Just the weekends and the long retail hours but that's normal everywhere. And only one store in Sydney so not enough career progress.

Pros

Good start to build up your CV. Fun and large project to drive. In the edge of new things and growing stable company. Perfect for people to learn processes and tools but maybe not the best place to be when you are senior and would like to be able to have more control.

Cons

More and more outsourcing to India. Complex solutions with very long lead time to give live. People are lazy and IKEA IT is a consultans paradise, resources should be more utiliazed. I strongly believe that people are more happy when they have things to do. Stress in general at IKEA IT is not based on the work load. There are some key players that do a lot and maybe to much. I think it is fare that mgnt but some expectations on people working at IKEA IT.

Pros

- Opportunities include job transfer anywhere in the world. I worked with many people who were travelling whilst having a secure job with IKEA. They'd come from IKEA in Finland, Germany and more. - Free meals every day. Free coffee and drinks machines in the staff rooms. Identical to what is served up in the customer area. - Large employee area with showers, hair dryers etc. - Parties throughout the year. This included turning the restaurant in to a ball pit or the stairs in to a slide. Lots of fun. - Christmas gifts. One year everyone received a folding bike. - In house education. NVQ's etc. - Trusted to work on own initiative and supported. - Thorough training. - Never boring. - Chance to work in many roles including creative. - Christmas eve, day and boxing day off.

Cons

- Sometimes expected to do too much. Understaffed meaning queues of annoyed customers.
