Difficult to work for

Pros

Accommodating to personal/family needs. A brand that is easy to love. Relatively good job security - they will work with you to find a place for you, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Frustrations are typically shared, so come to terms with them. Salary and benefits are not superb, but far from poor.

Cons

Difficult company to work for if you like getting things done. Nothing is in anyones control and there is a lengthy dance that occurs to get any simple task done. Whatever your job area is focused on, plan to only spend 25% of time on it - you will be negotiating and having the same conversations to eventually be allowed to move forward. Alignment is impossible. Everyone is aware of the fundamental problems in the business and systems, and even the owners within the business do not have power to impact them.

Pros

Great company values and benefits. Management was also reliable and supportive

Cons

even if your manager wants to promote there's no position available besides interior designer or interior designer manager. so unless you're willing to move to another state where the manager position is available or your manager quits, you're stuck in the same position for years and no raise, no matter how great you perform.

Pros

I moved on to a better company

Cons

If you are a person of color or certain sexual orientation this is not a company that will work well for you. If you are smart and seek advancement they will fight to keep you stuck in the position you got hired in with minimal raises
